NORTH LOGAN — Cache County School District (CCSD) has announced new district and school administration changes for the 2023-2024 school year.
The announcement included administrative changes in Mountain Crest High School (MCHS), Ridgeline High School (RHS) and Green Canyon High School (GCHS).
Former MCHS assistant principal Bardett Bagley was named as the new RHS principal.
Bagley began his career in education as a school counselor at Preston High School before he became a counselor at Sky View High School for 17 years. He also coached baseball and wrestling at SVHS.
“Because he has always been involved in coaching, the sports and activities are his favorite part of being in high school,” a release from the district stated.
Former MCHS assistant principal Denise Mouritsen was named as the new MCHS principal.
Mouritsen has worked in CCSD for 12 years as a special education teacher in various schools throughout the district before she was named an assistant principal at MCHS.
“She loves spending time at school with the students and cheering them on at all the school events,” the release said.
With both of MCHS assistant principals accepting different positions as principals at MCHS and RHS, two new assistant principals were named in the release: Darren Perkes and Thomas Williams.
Perkes started his 25 year career in education in Box Elder Middle School teaching English and French for a year before teaching at SVHS for 18 years. For the past 8 years, Perkes has been teaching English and WolkPACK Academy part-time at GCHS.
“He has built many lasting relationships with everyone he has worked with over the years,” the release said. “He is excited about new adventures at Mountain Crest.”
Williams has worked in education since 2012 teaching history, government and Spanish. He has served as the MCHS head swim coach for 9 years.
“[Williams] loves his career and has enjoyed interacting with his students and athletes,” the release said. “As he transitions into school administration, he looks forward to continuing to positively impact students’ lives.”
GCHS’s previous principal John Anderson was named as the district’s new Career and Technical Education Director.
Anderson has worked in various positions in CCSD since 2008, including assistant principal and principal at North Cache Middle School, principal at Birch Creek Elementary School and GCHS.
“[Anderson’s] life has always revolved around education,” the release said. “As an educator, and one that likes to build, he is grateful to have worked with students and children of every age.”
With Anderson accepting the district position, Jim Crosbie was named the new GCHS principal.
Crosbie has worked in CCSD for 26 years in various roles at South Cache 9th Grade Center, MCHS, RHS and, recently was an assistant principal at GCHS for two years.
“As the new principal, Crosbie is excited to continue his career at Green Canyon,” the release said. “This school and its community have truly blessed his life and his family’s life.”
With Crosbie accepting the position of GCHS principal, according to CCSD Public Information Specialist Jenda Nye, a vacancy was left for an assistant principal at GCHS which will be filled in the following weeks.
